Get your pasta right: 8 tips

 

 

Get your pasta right with these 8 tips:

  1. Use a large pot to boil water and cook pasta 💦 This allows movement for the pasta. Too little water results in uneven cooking and too much starch which makes the pasta sticky

  2. Salt your pasta water generously to flavor the pasta from the inside out so that every bite is flavourful rather than just sauce coating the outside 🍝

  3. Bring the water to a full boil, or rolling boil, before adding the pasta. 🫧

  4. Don’t just dump and run! ⚠️Separate pasta with tongs from the beginning so it doesn’t clump together.

  5. Test the pasta two minutes ⏲️ before it’s “al dente”.

  6. Take out pasta when it’s slightly underdone than “al dente” and leave to cook in sauce so it can further absorb more flavours in 💥

  7. Save a cup of pasta water💧 This helps bind the pasta sauce and noodles together to give it a luscious ‘creamy’ consistency.

  8. Best practice: Drop hot pasta from the pot into the sauce, toss and serve immediately! Pasta waits for no man 🙅🏼‍♀️
