Chinese Cucumber Salad (Liang Ban Cai)


The Lowdown: 

This dish is a delightful symphony of flavours – salty, tangy, and oh-so-crunchy. Perfect for a quick bite or as a refreshing side dish. Once you try it, you'll be hooked! 😋


3 japanese cucumbers
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
5-6 cloves of garlic
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp vinegar
Sesame seeds


  1. Dice cucumbers, sprinkle with salt and sugar, then let them mingle for 15 minutes (This allows water to be drawn out).

  2. Get your garlic finely chopped, then pour in some hot oil for that aromatic sizzle
  3. Transfer the cucumber to a mixing bowl
  4. Mix in soy sauce, vinegar, and your garlic with oil

  5. Give it a toss and indulge in the flavourful crunch!
